Therapist | LMHC

I specialize in counseling women and men on self-esteem, worth & actualization. I also support clients affected by bullying, narcissistic abuse as well as those dealing with complicated grief. As your therapist, I will assist you in discovering or uncovering yourself. This might mean realizing some difficult truths about your personality and behavior patterns, tapping into your strengths, and identifying what coping skills work for you. Or, it might mean working through emotional pain, trauma, or barriers that prevent you from being your best self. In my years of experience, I have found that once a person’s authentic identity has been discovered through therapy, clients can accept who they are, confidently speak up for themselves and understand themselves with greater perspective. Usually this leads to healthier relationship choices and dynamics. I will help you to learn more about yourself and make realistic changes.

Being in the field since 2005, I have had experience working with children, families, groups and individuals. I have most recently worked with adults with relationship issues and women affected by bullying and narcissistic abuse but am interested in working with all types of people. I specialize in depression, anxiety, grief, DBT, CBT, women’s issues, family conflict, life transitions/stressors, relationship issues and personal empowerment. I am trained in and skilled at diagnosing mental illness. In my work, I strive to maintain a positive approach and to allow people I work with to feel comfortable, important and heard. As a person, I am considered a warm and friendly presence, who can most often be found smiling. I am a mother and wife and I love animals, cooking and being social. Working as a therapist has been an honor. I find that I learn as much from my clients as they might learn from me. I firmly believe in the resiliency of human beings. I will work hard to help you to learn this for yourself, whatever situation you might find yourself to be in.

My Professional Background

I completed my graduate training with Catholic Charities and Queens, Long Island Community Services working with addicts, adolescents, couples and bipolar patients. I formerly worked at The Center for Revitalizing Psychiatry and Crosby Counseling Center in Sarasota Florida as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern passing my licensure exam (NCMHCE) June 9, 2022 and subsequently completed my hours to receive my CASAC.

I have received specialized training in grief and loss, bereavement, caregiver loss, anxiety, mindfulness, self-esteem and narcissistic abuse. I am a member of the American Mental Health Counselor Association, American Counselor’s Association and the International Employee Assistance Professionals Association. I have educated church groups in assisting those who are caregiving and helped church leadership establish peer support groups for those who have lost a loved one through death and for those who are caregivers.
