When working with individuals, I believe it’s important to take a humanistic approach and focus on what a client’s goals. Providing a safe non-judgement space is important in order to have a successful relationship. I like to meet individuals where they are and utilize a person-centered approach when discussing coping skills or creating goals for outside of the counseling session. Utilizing CBT, DBT to help decrease negative thoughts/behaviors and create a more positive mindset/behavior. I think it’s important to explore and develop coping skills to implement when struggling with increase MH symptoms.
My Professional Background
I have been in the health care field for over 10 years. I have experience working with individuals with disabilities in group homes and day hab settings. I have experience as a care coordinator in which I helped individuals create structure and support in their everyday lives. I currently work at an MH/SUD outpatient facility which helps individuals by providing counseling, harm reduction support/education

Fun Facts
Outside of my counseling life I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married for several years and have 2 children and 2 dogs. I enjoy being active and going outside. I like baking, arts and crafts and building Lego.
