My approach to therapy is meeting the client where she or he is at in their life and situation; holding their hand and walking with them through the process toward self-healing, while telling them: it’s OK, you can do this.
My Professional Background
I have been in practice for almost twenty years. I graduated with a Masters in Clinical Social Work in 2004 and continued to work for the clinic where my internship had been. I have been in group and private practice settings, seeing clients without interruption ever since. As I speak Spanish, I’ve been able to help a great deal of Hispanic immigrants and have worked on problems related to immigration, acculturation, bicultural issues, generational/cultural differences, cultural diversity, adaptation to new environments, discrimination, family reunification or separation issues, and many others. I also work very well with career, family, parenting and school related issues.
