I believe that therapy is a journey that first begins with the courage to heal. Therapy should be a safe place to heal, discover, grow, and find moments of selah–which means to pause and reflect. The following quote sums up what I believe the healing process looks like: “Life is like an onion; you peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep” (Carl Sandburg). The attachment patterns we developed from childhood along with unhealed areas of our hearts impact how we show up in the world. I love to see my clients to gain understanding through psychoeducation. I am an attachment therapist who works within psychodynamic lens. My goal is to help people identify how patterns, cycles, and unhealthy ways of thinking keep them stuck. Coming to peace within oneself, one’s past, and with others is the fruit of the healing journey.
My Professional Background
I received my B.S. in Human Development at Amridge University and worked in the human service field. I desired to have a deeper understanding of how to help people who were struggling with the impacts of trauma. I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020 from Hodges University and have worked in both outpatient programs and private practice settings. The word psychology comes from the Greek word “psyche” which means the study of the soul. My training and experience have assisted me in bringing a holistic perspective to my clinical practice. My passion for people have helped me to become the clinician that I am today.
