I offer individualized sessions that cater to the unique needs of each person. I try to encourage living in the present, embodiment, aliveness, self discovery and connection. I use a strength based approach as a foundation to build on other areas of difficulty, so we can lead fulfilled lives, in spite of difficulty. I see life challenges as tools to learn, grow, evolve and find new purpose, empathy, depth and meaning. I work with a myriad of issues, including trauma, life transitions, anxiety, the GLBT community. I can offer help using evidence based practices, including mindfulness, EFT, EMDR and relationship skills.
My Professional Background
I have worked as a therapist for the last 10 years, and in the mental health industry for 15 years. I have worked with various ages, ethnic backgrounds, and issues. My interest in the profession of counseling sparked from volunteering at an all issue crisis helpline. I have worked at a Rape Crisis Center, community mental health programs, working with children 0-5 and parents, treatment foster care and those with developmental challenges. I have particular interest and skills in the areas of treating relationship conflicts, trauma, GLBT, life transitions, infertility, chronic pain/illness, women’s issues, and anxiety.
