Feeling alone? Stuck in your own thoughts? In a spiral of depression and anxiety? Feeling like nobody understands? You are not alone! I would be honored to sit with you during your most difficult times, and help you make it through.

A history of abuse, abandonment, and trauma can affect how you interact with others, and can make relationships, and dealing with stressful situations very difficult. I know it feels isolating and overwhelming all too often, but you’d be surprised how many others feel the same. I’ve found that people have everything they need to heal within. I specialize in PTSD, trauma, childhood abuse, mood disorders, and substance abuse. Through creating a safe and accepting partnership, we decide together the goals for our time.

I am trained in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, which addresses trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, phobias etc. In addition, I offer DBT therapy, which focuses on better managing emotions and stress, and is very helpful with substance abuse or any type of addictive behavior. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy are two other interventions I use to help alleviate symptoms.

I hope, together, we can help to create the life you have been envisioning for yourself.

My Professional Background

I have considerable experience in substance abuse issues, and severe and persistent mental illness. My internship was completed at Halifax Hospital in the psychiatric inpatient unit at Daytona Beach, Florida; and completed practicum at Halifax Behavioral Services, the children’s inpatient hospital. I then spent several years at a residential treatment facility for women, addressing substance abuse issues, trauma, legal issues, and open DCF cases. Following this, I spent almost 8 years on a FACT Team (Florida Assertive Community Treatment), which provides therapeutic services, psychiatric services, housing, case management, group therapy, substance abuse therapy, and many other required services to the severe and persistent mentally ill population, where I was a therapist, and the substance abuse specialist. Through my many years in community mental health programs, I have served a diverse population, and have become familiar with many different therapeutic modalities, a wide variety of presenting problems, and have worked with individuals, groups, couples, families, adolescents, and children. I’m looking forward to meeting new client’s and helping to relieve suffering.
