Jeanna Houston is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience working with clients with mental health and substance use disorders. Jeanna takes a holistic view of wellness by incorporating ancient practices of yoga and mindfulness and meditation along with evidenced based practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, and EMDR to address her client’s physical, emotional, and and spiritual wellness. Jeanna received 200 hour RYT yoga teacher trained in Yoga Therapy in 2011. She is passionate about optimal health in her professional and personal life and she draws from a rich history of Eastern Philosophies and Western science to meet the needs of her clients.

Specialties Include: CBT, EMDR and SFBT as well as her experience in 12 step and other recovery paths.Jeanna’s holistic approach effectively address the needs of clients with grief issues, history of trauma, marital issues, anxiety, depression, stress disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. Jeanna also has training and experience in working with LBGTQI+ issues and transitions.

My Professional Background

Jeanna has 6 years of counseling experience working in community centered non-profit substance use and mental health facilities. She also has 6 years of experience working in free standing psychiatric hospitals doing evaluations for recommendations for level of care placement such as outpatient, IOP, PHP or inpatient psychiatric treatment. For the past 7 years, Jeanna has worked in a private practice setting doing individual and couples counseling working with diverse populations such as Veterans, elderly clients, LGBTQ+ clients, adults, adolescent clients and marginalized clients of different races and cultural backgrounds.

Fun Facts

I am interested in nature, hiking, swimming in the ocean, walking on the beach. I practice yoga, pilates, meditation and daily prayer. I am passionate about health and well being in physical, emotional, and spiritual ways.
