I utilize CBT, DBT, solution focused or family systems approach depending on what client needs and in a way that is best tailored for treatment process. I will provide emotional support and guidance, focusing on life transitions, adjustment needs and significant life changes to address the anxiety, depression, and trauma. My goal is to empower you, to create space, balance and time and strength to process and for clients fully be capable of expressing their needs. I specialize in working with clients experiencing loneliness, situational anxiety, barriers in developing healthy boundaries/communication with relationships, career challenges, Women’s health, pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum, and insomnia. My specialty includes who have experienced cultural or religious, deep-seated trauma or what might be difficult to express out loud.
My Professional Background
I have a Master’s in Science in Psychology, concentration in Marriage and Family therapy from the Our Lady of the Lake University. I have additional training in frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My experiences and trainings have formed my clinical mental health expertise. My initial experience working as a teacher working from Pre-K to high school students, utilizing solution focused approaches to highlight resources and strengths in students. Years following, I interned at youth counseling center, counseling children and adolescents with depression, anxiety and suicide and led parent education classes. I also provide therapeutic interventions for inpatient and outpatient program at mental health hospital, working with wide range of severe mental health illness in adults, adolescents and geriatrics as well as providing crisis interventions and completing assessments.
