Therapist | LMHC

In simple terms, therapy is aimed towards restoring emotional stability and improving one’s overall well-being. My goal as a therapist is to establish a strong working relationship with my clients to help them identify areas of change to reach their personal goals, and ultimately achieve a more fulfilling life.

I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and trusting space, allowing my clients to feel comfortable, while examining aspects of themselves and their experiences. My therapeutic style fosters hope, self-awareness, and acceptance. I have been described as compassionate, straightforward, and genuine. When appropriate, I will also incorporate humor and real-life examples to help contextualize present concerns.

Through a collaborative and strengths-based lens, I encourage clients to develop new coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and incorporate healthy self-care practices.

From a theoretical standpoint, I integrate a Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, and Systems Therapy approach. However, since I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach, I tailor my interventions to meet each client’s specific needs. I also incorporate Mindfulness-based techniques to enhance the mind-body connection.

My Professional Background

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with strong clinical skills. I have over 12 years of experience in delivering mental health services to an ethnically diverse population of individuals. My experience includes working in hospital settings, inpatient and outpatient facilities, and private practice agencies. Over the years, I have worked with various age groups, providing individual, group, family, and couple’s therapy. I am well versed in treating a variety of mental health concerns, and currently specialize in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relationship issues, addiction, trauma, grief, and life transition or adjustment issues. I am also fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and have considerable experience in working with the Latinx population.
