Therapist | LMHC

There are many barriers when starting the process of becoming vulnerable in front of another person. My goal as a therapist is to help guide you toward authenticity while re-establishing interpersonal connections with those around you. Whether you’re looking for processing, skills work, problem-solving for everyday stress, or are experiencing major life events, we can explore and work toward your personal goals collaboratively. I believe in utilizing an integrative and client-centered approach while using elements from trauma informed care, narrative therapy, and gender theory. I have a specialty in working with individuals who don’t have a good relationship with food and are seeking to repair their body image, self-esteem, comfortability around food.

I work with adults, college students, teens, and couples, to 1. Identify maladaptive thoughts/behavior patterns, 2. Understand what’s at the root of these patterns, 3. Cultivate tools and behaviors that encourage, rather than inhibit, growth. I offer compassionate, honest feedback, providing an outside lens that will allow you to see yourself more clearly.

Therapy is an arena to challenge your inner critic while fostering your true and authentic self. With this understanding we wiIl work to break down the barriers that stop you from living a calm and full life.

My Professional Background

I have 6 years of paraprofessional and professional experience working in the mental health field. Starting at the National Suicide Prevention Line I have skills in assessing risk level and managing significant symptoms of depression, anxiety and self-harm. While working at the Veteran’s Crisis Line I helped assist Veteran’s during their most vulnerable times helping to guide them toward clarity and stability. I have also worked with the Veteran’s Administration in their PTSD clinic. I have become very familiar with simple and complex forms of PTSD and have helped manage other forms of anxiety disorders, ranging from but not limited too; General Anxiety, OCD, Social Anxiety, Agoraphobia, and Panic Disorder.

Lastly, I have experience working with distinguished eating disorder centers for the past 2 years allowing me to gain specialized expertise with individuals experiencing Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge-Eating Disorder , ARFID, OSFED, and disordered eating patterns. I strive to support those in fostering a better relationship between food and their bodies.
