To me, being in therapy means to face our vulnerability. I believe therapy can be a powerful force when one is ready and willing to bring about change and healing. I am rooted in psychodynamic psychotherapy however I tailor my therapeutic treatment based on your individual needs. I have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults on a wide range of topics. This includes managing stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, major life changes, and childhood trauma. I will always work collaboratively with you to ensure that you identify and build on strengths, explore different pathways in managing challenges, and work on creating a more balanced, positive, and gratifying life. Ultimately my goal is to create a safe and healthy environment for growth and change to transpire as well as provide guidance, and support to help navigate through life’s challenges.
My Professional Background
I received my B.A. in Psychology from SUNY College At Old Westbury and immediately pursued graduate school, also at SUNY College At Old Westbury. I received my Master’s of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and it was during that time that I began my journey in the mental health field. During my graduate years I started off as a junior therapist at a group home for the adolescent population and worked as a counselor at an adult grouphome and absolutely loved being able to provide therapy to those specific communities. I then had the opportunity to become a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) technician and had the ability to see mental health issues through the lens of science as I provided TMS therapy to adults who suffered severe depression. Since then I have worked as a licensed mental health counselor to serve children, adolescence, and adults within outpatient practices.
