Therapist | LPC

My counseling style is warm, open and collaborative. I employ use of acceptance, positive client regard and genuine listening to design and implement individual treatment plans for each client. We will start where you are currently and go at your pace. I employ and teach practical hands-on tools that can assist you in resolving self-defeating thoughts and resulting choices; replacing them with the skills and attitudes that empower oneself confidence and awareness in dealing with life’s struggles. I believe knowledge belies strength and ultimately will enhance and increase the peace and joy to one’s life. I am here to lend an ear and my expertise to help you make the choices that are in your best interest and rooted in clarity.

Seeking help for oneself or a loved one can be a daunting and intimidating task. I understand and empathize with this and will do what I can to ensure the process is as easy and transparent as possible. I welcome questions and am happy to explain and clarify any of your questions or concerns regarding this process. I am happy to help!

My Professional Background

I have practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Lone Star State for the past 27 years. These decades of assisting others have given me the opportunity to incorporate a wide and varied range of experiences, practical tools, and best practices techniques into my counseling. I have worked in many settings and with multiple populations within Texas’ mental health field; including, hospitals, shelters, state mental health agencies, non profit organizations; private practices counseling and telehealth counseling. I have experience and success working with individuals ranging in age from children to adults.

My clients have struggled with a variety of depleting symptoms caused by the difficulties and stress of the world we live in today. Employing a collaborative and client centered approach, I work with my clients to identify strengths and resources; develop skills that can be practiced in the day to day; and teach methods of mindfulness and distress tolerance to enhance personal growth.
