As a therapist I try to provide a safe place for my clients to attend where they can feel supported and comfortable. I believe a therapist should be non-judgmental, so I do my best to be open, honest and sincere with all of my clients, as I feel that it helps to build a strong therapeutic relationship. I use a collaborative approach that incorporates the strengths, skills and interests of my clients into their treatment. Additionally, I use an integrative approach by combining aspects of several therapeutic modalities to best meet the needs of the individual. I believe by being flexible in my approach I can best support the client as a whole. My ultimate goal is that my clients will leave therapy feeling a new sense of empowerment in their ability to cope with all of life’s challenges.
My Professional Background
I received my MSW at Stony Brook University and soon after began my career providing group and individual therapy to clients with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, substance abuse, addiction, thought disorders, and personality disorders. I have provided therapeutic services in both an outpatient day program and in private practice. I have experience working with individuals from ages 6 and up, however, have found my passion is working with young adults. I currently practice as an LCSW in New York State.
