Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy

What types of therapy do you provide?

We provide individual, couples, and family therapy. We periodically hold group therapy series and workshops and more detail will be posted on the site in advance for event registration. In terms of therapy approaches, we offer a wide range of therapy techniques and styles based on the diverse training of  each of our team members. We understand therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” experience and we strive to make sure we meet our clients where they are at.

Do you offer online / virtual sessions?

Yes! Online therapy is by far our most popular service. We understand people have busy schedules and making time for in-person therapy is not always convenient, so we offer online therapy to clients living in New York or California. We use a HIPAA-compliant virtual platform and will provide you with instructions on how to access your sessions and address any troubleshooting needs.

What types of clients do you see?

We see clients from all age ranges, and each therapist has specialized training in specific age groups to address the unique needs present with each life stage. We would be happy to set up a consultation and discuss your therapy goals and determine goodness-of-fit together!

How long are therapy sessions?

Your sessions will start with an initial consultation to understand your therapy goals.  This initial consultation takes approximately 15 minutes and is always free of charge.  All following sessions are 50 minutes long.

What is your payment policy? Do you accept insurance?

Our fee for sessions can be discussed during the initial consultation. Payment via cash or credit/debit card is due at the time of session.  Currently, we are not an in-network insurance provider, but we are more than happy to provide an invoice for you to submit a claim and seek reimbursement from your insurance company for an out-of-network provider. We recommend looking into your out-of-network benefits for outpatient psychotherapy beforehand to make sure you know what is reimbursable.

What is your cancellation policy?

We are more than happy to reschedule or cancel any sessions at least 24 hours before our scheduled appointment time. Any cancellations within the 24-hour window will result in a fee.

Is therapy confidential?

Absolutely -- confidentiality of all client information is protected by state and federal laws. There are some limits to confidentiality in extreme cases when safety of the client or others is compromised. We can provide you with the details of these exceptions during your initial consultation or in an initial therapy session.
