I believe therapeutic relationship can serve as a corrective experience for the client. It is a place where they will be seen, heard, understood and supported, and this in turn positively affects their life and relationships outside of therapy. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, and focuses on creating a safe space for the client to be open, honest and vulnerable, and to face themselves and their presenting problems with compassion and understanding, so that they can transform and grow in a positive direction.
I have years of experience working with children and families with trauma, and supporting families through transitions while working on positive communication and coping skills. I am currently working with the LGBTQ+ community, with issues ranging from exploring and identifying sexuality and gender to working on PTSD, depression and anxiety. I have worked extensively with clients experiencing substance use disorders at inpatient and outpatient treatment centers, and I use a trauma-informed, compassionate approach that supports and inspires clients in making their own decisions and changes.
My hobbies include singing, playing guitar, hiking, exercising, getting lost in various art projects. I worked as a singer/musician for about ten years, so I love anything that has to do with music and performing, and I still play little gigs here and there just for fun.
