My Favorite Quote
"You’re so hard on yourself. Take a moment. Sit back. Marvel at your life: at the grief that softened you, at the heartache that wisened you, at the suffering that strengthened you. Despite everything, You still grow. Be proud of this.” — Unknown
I would describe my approach to therapy to be collaborative, authentic, and I aim to instill hope for a more positive future for my clients in a safe and non-judgmental space. I not only take time to understand why you are deciding to begin therapy, but I make an effort to understand your strengths that we can utilize during our work together to help us reach your goals.
I also approach my work with clients in a holistic way, paying attention to the mind, body, and soul. I believe these elements are integrated and transactional, so I take the time to teach relevant skills and explore how we can enhance your life by addressing these different areas and bringing balance in thoughts, behavior, and how you handle emotions.
As a DBT therapist, I believe the therapeutic process creates a “real relationship between equals,” and I strive to bring a sense of “realness” into therapy sessions so that we can be more effective in our work together. My hope is to help you create a “life worth living” in which you can be the best version of yourself and feel more confident in the resilient person you are.
I received my B.A. in Psychology at UC Irvine, and began my career with a strong emphasis in clinical research on how to improve treatment methods. My passion for clinical research still impacts my practice today by driving me to find the most updated, evidence-based practices I can use in session. I received my Master of Social Work degree in 2014 from San Diego State University and have worked at inpatient and outpatient programs and private practice in both New York City and Southern California. I believe my generalized skill-set I've built over the past 10 years has helped me become a more compassionate and informed therapist. I am an LCSW in the states of California and New York and at this time, I am accepting clients in both states.
When I have free time, I love to travel and have visited over 30 countries (and still have quite a few to go on my bucket list)! Music is an important part of my life and I can play 3 instruments.
During the consultation you and one of our Clinical Coordinators will discuss why you're interested in starting therapy or coaching, and review your goals. We can also answer any questions you may have about our services. Consultations are by secure video conferencing session, or by phone.
