I feel that therapy is a special partnership between client and therapist, and when a rapport is built and a connection is made the real work can begin. I view therapy as a "holding place" for client's pain. At times when things feel overwhelming it can be healing to have someone who can hold that burden with you. I use an eclectic approach when working with clients. I believe that each individual is unique and what works for one may not work for another. I use modalities such as ACT, CBT as well as psychotherapy to help clients reach their therapeutic goals.
I started my career as a therapist working in the substance use field where I provided group and individual counseling to those suffering from substance use disorders. I then went on to work at a mental health clinic where I manage a case load of clients struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, as well as chronic pain . I have worked with individuals of all ages and have worked with diverse populations.
I enjoy cooking and eating healthy foods. I love painting, drawing doing puzzles and reading. I like working out either outside or at the gym, and I enjoy warm weather.
