My approach as a therapist is affirming, collaborative, strengths based, and tailored to each client I work with. I focus on providing a judgment-free zone so that clients have space and support to work on their personal goals. I hope to build a strong relationship with each client because I believe that a strong relationship is very important to our ability to work together and helps to strengthen the client's ability to reach their goals.
Therapy can sometimes be hard work and often means facing difficult experiences from our past. My hope is that I am providing a space where the client never feels alone in the process. Every client will have different goals and objectives for therapy. I aim to collaborate with the client in reaching those goals by building adaptive coping skills for a fulfilling and joyful life.
Since starting my career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Prior to becoming a therapist I worked in social services and non-profit for many years. I primarily worked within marginalized communities for equality and social justice issues.
My background and experiences in community work only deepened my commitment and passion in healing and social justice. This ultimately led me to pursue clinical work to address the mental health and trauma needs that were so prevalent in all communities.
As a therapist I have focused on working with adults who have experienced issues with depression, anxiety, trauma, family issues, domestic violence, addiction, and who are hoping to find coping skills that will help them lead a more joyful life.
Some of the things I love the most are the beach, journals, glitter, delicious food, baked goods, and coffee. My partner and I work out regularly and also try to go for long walks, usually at the beach. I enjoy reading, art museums, and thrift stores. I also love game nights with various card games, board games, etc. I love to have fun and laugh with my loved ones every chance I get.
During the consultation you and one of our Clinical Coordinators will discuss why you're interested in starting therapy or coaching, and review your goals. We can also answer any questions you may have about our services. Consultations are by secure video conferencing session, or by phone.
