My Favorite Quote
"I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” — Frank Herbert
My goal is to make the therapy process a positive one where clients feel recognized and validated. I feel that therapy is an essential step in the recovery process and a strong therapeutic bond between counselor and client is needed for success.
I strive to provide clients a safe and judgement free space to share their feelings. Therapy is a collaboration and I work with clients to ensure that their goals for treatment are specific, realistic and achievable. I incorporate evidence-based treatment approaches in my work as a therapist and enjoy using Mindfulness-based and Cognitive Behavioral Techniques.
I received my Master's Degree in Social Work with a specialization in Children and Families in 2015 from the University of Texas at Arlington. After working in my community as a Licensed Master's Level Social Worker and receiving clinical supervision for 2 years, I achieved my clinical licensure in 2018.
I have experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds, ranging from children to the geriatric population. I also have experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, neurological disorders, and dual mental health and substance use disorder diagnoses. Much of my work experience comes from a medical or health care environment, including hospitals, non-profit medical organizations, and behavioral health facilities.
I have experience conducting individual, family, and group therapy sessions, working in crisis situations, and completing comprehensive diagnostic and psychosocial assessments.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and my three dogs. We all love to be outside so we go hiking, kayaking, and fishing regularly. I love to bake and am always trying out new recipes. I also enjoy live music and am very much looking forward to going to concerts again!
