My Approach

My approach to therapy is very holistic and focuses on assisting clients in discovering their inner strength and resilience. I believe to understand the nature of any challenge, a therapist should seek to better understand and treat the whole person. I view therapy as a contract between the therapist and the client in which both work together to meet the client’s goals.

I have a passion for client education and am committed to providing guidance in a safe and supportive environment, and value honest dialogue, compassion, and self-reflection. In their work with me my clients gain insight into the nature of their challenges and themselves, and leave therapy with a renewed sense of empowerment.

While I utilize a psychodynamic or integrative model of counseling which incorporates several evidence-based approaches, including CBT, mindfulness, psychoeducation, SFT, and DBT, I also incorporate religious or spiritual principles into therapy as requested.

My Professional Background

Since beginning my work in the field of mental health in 2014, I have had the privilege of working with a diversity of individuals seeking support for a wide range of issues. I have served in Outpatient, Community, Inpatient, Residential, and Private Practice settings and have experience working with individuals, couples, and families.

As a result of working in a variety of mental health settings, and with multiple populations, I have a range of specialties including: conscious communication and teaching conflict resolution (for clients seeking to resolve issues of family, relationship, spouse, or work-related conflicts), understanding and improving family dynamics within the family system, issues around Identity, and social and cultural issues impacting emotional wellbeing.
