I would describe my therapy approach as person and strength based. I have five years of experience working with culturally diverse children, youth, adolescents, and families struggling with a variety of mental illnesses that include anxiety, depression, trauma and borderline personality disorder. In addition I have over ten years of experience working with children and families with behavioral health struggles and children diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and other developmental disorders.
My philosophy is: we are shaped by our thoughts, emotions and behaviors therefore with time and effort change is always possible. We are all capable of change and growth. With the utilization of various evidence based practices (CBT, DBT, Mindfulness) my goal is to assist in empowering children, adolescents and families navigate any social or behavioral concerns that may arise.
I received my Bachelors degree in Sociology and minor in Clinical Psychology at University of California Santa Barbara. I have worked with children and teenagers for more than 12 years and have a passion for working with culturally diverse population. I received my Master of Social Work degree in 2014 from California State University of Dominguez Hills. I have extensive experience in private practice settings and at Harbor UCLA Children and Adolescent unit. I am an LCSW and BCBA in the state of California.
When I have free time I love to enjoy nature by going on walks and/or hikes. I love to listen to music and love to go to the beach.
