My approach to treatment pulls from a combination of psychodynamic, humanistic, relational and behavioral theories. I believe starting with a person-centered approach highlights how each client is unique and therapy should be individualized to best meet their personal goals and needs. I use talk therapy techniques from CBT, Solution Based Casework, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. As an Art Therapist, I have an additional lens to support clients in creative ways. I strive to present clients with the support to grow, heal and learn tools to better navigate life obstacles.
My skill set has been shaped through providing outpatient long-term individual psychotherapy focused on depression, anxiety, family dynamics, trauma, life transitions, and loss/grief. Additionally, I have helped adults with severe mental illness, learn coping skills, develop safety plans, and identify supports. Other experiences include working with family systems and children with emotional regulation difficulties. Working with families, I focused on strengthening family relationships and promoting the safety and well-being of children. In a school setting, I supported children to learn how to safely express and manage emotions.
I enjoy running, gymnastics and watercolor painting. Recently, I've been trying to learn how to roller-blade. The beach is my favorite place to be!
